Rather stately and dramatic and most decidely vertical, this tall native beauty prefers full sun and moist to wet soils. Slender white flower spires reach for the sky atop leaves that whorl around sturdy stems. Deep taproots and rhizomes take their time to get established but eventually make for a tough presence in the garden. Pollinators and butterflies enjoy the floral rewards and birds gather seeds.
