Striped Maple
Striped Maple, named for their showy striped stems, naturally occurs in average well drained soils and part shade. This slow growing under story tree can often be found in shrub form in Northern Hardwood forrests. Maples have high wildlife value, supporting almost 300 species of Lepidoptera. It feeds many mammals including squirrels, chipmunks, porcupines, deer and moose along with many bird species.
