WHORLED MILKWEED

Whorled Milkweed has fine, needle like foliage and is great for difficult dry, sunny situations. A vigorous spreader, give this Milkweed room to flex their rhizomatous muscles and take up some space. Since the fragrant flowers bloom later in the season than other Milkweeds, Asclepias verticillata is a valuable late season food source for Monarch Butterflies and their caterpillars. And many other native pollinators and butterflies benefit from the nectar.
