PAWPAW ‘Susquehanna’

Description

PAWPAW ‘Susquehanna’

This small Native tree is prized for its edible fruit. Relished by many animals, with a banana-custard like flavor, they are a good source of Vitamins A and C. The Pawpaw is a larval host for the Zebra Swallowtail and Pawpaw Sphinx. It has a unique tropical appearance and makes a good specimen as well as an understory tree. ‘Susquehanna’ is a popular Peterson variety bearing large fruit with rich, firm, melting texture. The sweet fruit ripens in late season.
