Fox Sedge grows in moist to very wet soils in full to part sun. Soft grass like leaves arch in mounds and the clumps spread by rhizomes to form colonies. This spreading native sedge is excellent for erosion control because of this spreading habit. Carex provides seed and cover for wildlife.
