Description
HACKBERRY
This Native tree makes a great street tree. It can be a bit messy, but it grows anywhere and has interesting corky bark. Birds love the fruit which ripens in the Fall and is a very important food source. It is a host plant for the Hackberry and Tawny Emporers, Red Spotted Purple, Morning Cloak, American Snout and the Question Mark among others. This tree has a Very High Wildlife Value.
