Description
AMERICAN HAZELNUT
This large Native shrub is an important Wildlife plant. The nuts are eaten by squirrels, deer, turkey, woodpeckers, pheasants and humans among others. The Ruffed Grouse will feed on the flowers. The nuts can be eaten raw, ground into flour, roasted or made into an oil. This plant has also been used medicinally.
