Description

This fast growing native evergreen tree prefers full sun and average well drained soils. The soft needles give winter interest in the landscape and provide excellent cover and nesting sites for birds. The cones are pleasing to the eye and the seeds they contain are a nutritious addition to diets of birds and mammals. White Pine can host 243 species of moths and butterflies including the Eastern Pine Elfin and the Tufted Pine Panthea.
