SCARLET OAK

Scarlet Oak grows in full sun in average to moist soil conditions and has tolerance for drier situations. The foliage is glossy dark green in summer, turning brilliant scarlet for several weeks in fall. Like all Oaks, Quercus coccinea has extremely high wildlife value. From hosting more than 500 species of Lepidoptera to feeding and sheltering mammals and birds, oaks deserve a place in your landscape.
