Description
CHESTNUT OAK
Chestnut Oak grows in full sun in average to dry conditions with good drought tolerance. This native oak has distinctive bark furrows and the shallow lobed leaves resemble American Chestnut foliage. The good sized acorns are beautiful to behold and provide food to birds and mammals. As with all oaks, this tree is a keystone in the ecosystem, hosting more than 500 species of moths and butterflies.
