POST OAK

Description

POST OAK

A small to medium sized native shade tree, Post Oak grows in dry to moist soils in full sun and can grow in tough dry locations. Oval shaped acorns feed wildlife and leathery dark green leaves can show good color in fall. Like all oaks, this is a stellar larval host to moths and butterflies, and provides cover, nesting sites, and food for birds. The wood is hard and durable and is often used for fencing posts.
