Description

Wingstem’s bright yellow daisy like flowers bloom atop tall winged stems providing pollen and nectar for native bees and butterflies. Spreading by rhizomes and seeds, Verbesina alternifolia can form colonies. Larval host to 17 species of butterflies and moths including the Silvery Checkerspot and Summer Azure, and provider of seeds for birds in winter, Wingstem is of great ecological value .
